HELPFUL HINT:   if you choose Sapphire Point, you may want to create and bring along a sign to post at the beginning of the path,   just to ensure that any public (tourists) who may be in the area will know to proceed quietly through the area.  Sometimes they come down the path talking and laughing, without realizing a ceremony is going on at the bottom of the path at the overlook area.   I think a sign like this is a good idea!

Town of Dillon, CO…… Parks Information

All of Dillon’s Parks are for day use and may be used for a wedding. They may be reserved.    You may call 970-468-2403 to check on availability of the park you would like to reserve and check the fee schedule.

 

Below is a brief description of the parks.

Marina Park Pavilion**  

MPP1

Located on Lodgepole Street at the end of Lake Dillon Drive on the waterfront. The Dillon Marina and the Lake Dillon Amphitheatre are adjacent to the park. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the park. Vehicles are not allowed in the park itself and are subject to ticketing and towing.  Marina Park facilities include:

  • Covered pavilion with picnic tables (seating for 80-90 people)
  • Small Playground
  • Large Charcoal Grill
  • Electrical Outlets
  • Potable Water
  • Small Charcoal Grills
  • ADA Restroom Facilities

Point Dillon Park & Lawn

Located on West Lodgepole Street in front of Lake Dillon Condominiums, overlooking the north end of Dillon Reservoir. Reservations can be made for private use of the public land/park and lawn areas. Please be aware that by reserving the right to use this area, public activities may occur nearby. Parking is available on a limited basis in the public parking lot adjacent to the park.
Full-day (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) rentals are accepted for Point Dillon Park. Tents may be used at Point Dillon Park and lawn area, and may be as large as 900 sq. ft. they must use sand bags, not stakes. Tents should be located on the east side end of the lawn area near West Lodgepole Street, and should never be placed on the west side of the condominiums obstructing their views unless special arrangements and approvals have been made with the condominium management company. Please note Point Dillon Park and Lawn areas do experience exposed, mountain weather conditions. This area can hold up to 100 people depending on configuration. Leave No Trace applies at all times.

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES.

  • Alcohol may be consumed in Town parks, and all state liquor laws shall apply.
  • No signs or advertising devices shall be erected or posted on the area covered by this permit, or roads/highways leading thereto.
  • If you plan to use a catering company for your event at the Pavilions, please have the catering company contact the Town Hall so that the caterers understand park regulations as well.

Parks are open from sunrise until one hour after sunset.

**Specially noted Parks can be rented in half-day increments: 9am – 2pm and 3pm – 8pm
